Julia Fullerton-Batten

The photography of Julia Fullerton-Batten:

Julia Fullerton-Batten is a very talented young professional photographer with a unique style. She often uses studio lighting to supplement daylight, which combined with unusual surroundings and the naturalness of girls who are not professional models, provide for beautiful, yet surreal imagery. She has received dozens of awards and has been profiled in numerous publications.

These photos of simulated death scenes represent only a very small portion of her work - but are, of course, most relevant to Death Etc.

You are encouraged to enjoy a much greater sampling of Julia’s photographs, covering a far wider range of themes, by visiting her website at juliafullerton-batten.com. Or, better yet, visit a gallery presenting her work if you ever get the opportunity.

Death Lives

January 27th, 2008 by Tom

With this first post, you are witnessing a birth…

The birth of death.

The mission statement of Death Etc. is to provide an entertaining, thought-provoking, controversial, occasionally educational, and sometimes humorous destination for all fans of the macabre genre of fiction and poetry, horror movies, Gothic art, music and style, vampires, and zombie cheerleaders from hell - all of this while remaining non-pretentious and welcoming to all.

Having long been a fan of Gothic style and macabre art, Death Etc. is the next logical step in my pursuit of a more diverse portfolio of each.

Not unlike actual death, nobody is really sure exactly what lies ahead for Death Etc., not even myself. There are many ideas, but only time will tell.
